Joint commitment to health
Goldbeck & nicos blood donation campaign
Whether to fight diseases or to save lives in an emergency: Blood reserves are indispensable for the work of clinics and medical facilities - but the number of donors is declining. The Münster branch of Goldbeck GmbH and network specialist nicos AG are supporting the regional healthcare system with a successful blood donation campaign. Yesterday, Wednesday, more than 30 volunteers donated their blood to the German Red Cross at the joint company headquarters in the rob17.EINS office building on Robert-Bosch-Straße in Münster. To be continued: Both companies would like to repeat the campaign annually in future.
The need for blood donations is high, but fewer and fewer people are donating - both in Münster and throughout Germany. It is therefore important for us to take responsibility and encourage people to donate with this campaign. Every donation counts," says Christian Terwey, head of the Goldbeck branch in Münster. To this end, the first floor of rob17.EINS was quickly transformed into an in-house blood donation center. "With donation campaigns like this, we want to do our bit to save lives. We are very happy and proud that so many of our employees are taking part," emphasizes Robert Holm, CEO of nicos AG.
In addition to employees of the two event organizers, employees of several companies based at rob17.EINS also responded to the call. A team of four medical professionals and volunteers carried out the blood collection. A hearty organic breakfast with iron-fortified juices was provided for all donors, who also received a bar of chocolate and a tube of marigold ointment as a thank you.
Small prick, big impact: As one of more than 30 volunteers, Oliver Büscher-Brach (Team Leader Planning Goldbeck Münster) donated his blood for a good cause.

The German Red Cross uses the donated blood to supply hospitals and clinics in the Münster catchment area. Certain components of the blood, such as plasma, are also used to produce medicines - including for hemophiliacs, cancer patients and people suffering from autoimmune or neurological diseases.
Goldbeck and nicos were delighted with the high level of participation and are planning to continue, says Christian Terwey: "The aim is to establish this campaign as a regular event in order to lower the barrier to donating blood. If it helps to do this during working hours, we are happy to support this.
